Multiple Single Concepts
Consider having students examine a topic though the lenses of different universal themes. Students could do this independently or as a group. Imagine the level of discussion and thinking that would occur if students examined ancient civilizations through the different lenses of structure, relationships, power, and change.
Students can also combine tools in their investigations. Consider having them use Depth and Complexity or Content Imperatives along with Universal Themes.
